Laboratory is one of the most important parts of LMO in detecting the truth using equipments, technology and scientific sources to provide a round-the-clock service: Following a smart approach, this directorate has adopted
technical and technological modernization as its main goal and taken great steps toward this goal. Currently, 31 CMO labs are providing specialized services in all provinces of the country. The main departments include: forensic Toxicology, forensic pathology, forensic serology & genetics, drug abuse and alcohol detection, blood group and subgroup typing in crime scene samples, kinship determination, bio and non-bio samples analysis to detect toxins and drugs, corpse identity determination, and pathological investigation of post mortem samples.
